I created this cd cover art for a Christian Rock band based in Texas. The cover concept is- when all else is falling apart and destruction surrounds you- one thing stands amidst the wreckage. This band at first just wanted me to design the cd cover art but once they saw the cover design they decided to have me create the rest of the cd packaging including the inside panels, traycard, and disc art.

Redefining The Fall cd cover design- Texas based Christian Rock band
I created this cd cover art for a Christian Rock band based in Texas. The cover concept is- when all else is falling apart and destruction surrounds you- one thing stands amidst the wreckage. This band at first just wanted me to design the cd cover art but once they saw the cover design they decided to have me create the rest of the cd packaging including the inside panels, traycard, and disc art.
d7 Band Christian cd art graphic designer, musica Cristiana cd diseno grafico
This is the cd packaging design I created for a Christian rock band based in Kansas City. They wanted a cd design that conveyed it was a live recorded concert. I designed the d7 logo on the cover and added several textures to give it a rich depth and I made the colors dark but rich. D7 didn't want a band photo on the cover so I created a lively crowd in an abstract environment as if they where attending a concert in another dimension.
D7 also wanted to incorporate their song lyrics, thank you's, and production notes- so they went with a 6 panel design to fit all the text. I carried the cover design theme throughout the packaging to give it a cohesive look. The band is now very happily promoting their new cd release on tour.

Geared Under- rock cd design: band photo art

This is the front side of a 4 panel cd insert, which is the cover (on the right) and the inside cover (on the left). The band wanted a design that reflected the album release name- "Road to Nowhere" so I created the scene from a collection of photo sources and added rain with photoshop. The tornado was actually not part of the original concept, at first there was a city scape back there and menacing clouds only, but I felt it lacked dramatic effect- so then I tried the tornado in the background and it worked perfectly. I later started adding objects in the air around the tornado like cows, tractors, houses and other random debris- but it made it look to comical so I toned it down a bit and only kept the blurry debris.
For the band photo on the left- i cut the band members out adjusted the levels on the photo to enhance the light and dark values- this gives it a more dramatic effect, and makes the photo look more rugged. I also added the worn out rock texture on the background along with the bands name painted graffiti style on the wall.

Canadian rock cd cover design album package heavy metal
This is one of my favorite cd cover designs, I had this cover image in my head and I could vaguely visualize it- but I knew I really like the concept. So I started collecting images of woman's faces to compose this collage. The cd cover was the primary focus because then there after the rest of the packaging is based on the cover design, it basically sets the art direction of the remaining package design. This band I believe is from canada and have had great success with there cd release. This cd cover design came out better than I imagined- I suspect they'll be back for their second album release.© 2009 Fernando Medina. Aurora, IL 60505 graphic designer and illustrator.
