BLee Mixtape DJ CD cover design- hip hop

This is the cd package design for a DJ mixtape (I know it's a cd and not a tape- but strangely that's still the terminology used today). Anyway, the artist dj didn't have any photo's he wanted incorporated into the design so he asked me to come up with a character that could represent his music. The mix-tape consists of hip hop music, r&b, rap, etc... The beats are actually quite good- I enjoyed them. He had a bunch of text files he gave to incorporate into the design, such as- the track list, production credits, thank you's, etc. He just gave them to me in a word file, and I placed them into the design. I also added the copyright info and FBI anti-piracy logo, along with the barcode, this all helps in establishing the professionalism the client wanted to portray in his album release. BLee is a very talented DJ and beat maker- I'm sure he'll be going place real soon- and hopefully he'll remember who his graphic designer is.

Musica Cristiana- cd diseño grafico de portada

This is a cd cover design for an amazingly talented Christian band based out of Chicago, IL. I created this cd cover design after discussing the concept with the art director (band member). He had a very specific idea in his mind and just needed me to bring it to life- fortunately we achieved the perfect design within the first round of design proofs. The client really wanted the city of Chicago represented in the background and so I designed a fitting cityscape with some dramatic clouds and scattering pigeons. The client also supplied me with a photo of neon signage for me to reference when designing his cd cover.

Fashion Poster Design- Aurora, IL and Chicago area Graphic Designer / Illustrator

I created this poster design for a fashion show that took place in Aurora, IL at the Walter Payton Roundhouse Complex in 2006. It's now 2009 but the design still looks fresh and holds up to today's design standards. As a graphic designer I enjoyed working on this project especially since the event was showcasing some t-shirt designs I created. I utilized digital software to created this poster design, which is common for fast turn print designs like this one. The event went very well and a good time was had by all. Chicago, IL.

christian hip hop rap cd design cover

This Christian rap cd cover design was a labor of love, combining two loves of mine, my Christian faith, and hip hop music. A match made in heaven. The cd design for a U.S. based rap group started off as a pencil sketch in my drawing pad, I then began to add other elements such as text, textures, lettering, and a border. Christian rap music I believe is a music market that still has much growth potential- I believe that it will start to boom more and more in the future. The rap group is actually very talented and I encourage you all to go out and purchase this cd if you're into christian hiphop music or if you just want to have a cd package with a great design also.

DVD Cover Design: dvd package graphic designer

DVD Cover Design for an independent film. I designed the dvd slip cover design of a movie I wrote, directed, and appeared in. As a graphic designer I always enjoy working on personal projects such as this one- it was a lot of fun. I took photographs of all four campers and placed them on the cover similar to poplar movie poster designs. I added some grungy fonts and organic textures to portray the environment we were in.. the woods. This DVD cover design was a big hit with my friends- they all got a signed copy and according to the cover design accolades we won an oscar!

I design for print products, including dvd slip cover designs, cd cover designs, book cover design, and more. Visit www.fernandocreative.com for more work.

Hands Tied Christian Rock- CD cover design

This design is for a christian rock band- the concept is that the hands are tied but are also creating a shadow puppet of a bird spreading it's wings- conveying the album title "escape". The hands are meant to be Jesus' Christ hands. The aged textures and colors really solidify the setting of this design.

This blue beast cover illustration was a second cover design option that was not chosen- I had this image in my head when i read the album title was escape- although it looks there is little chance the running man will escape this over grown cookie monster. I created the illustration using adobe photoshop and my digital wacom tablet pen. Enjoy

Hip Hop CD cover design- Rap cd design- Bmac cover art

Hip Hop in the Hizzy my Nizzy. This rapper went from zero to hero with the Nando-matic Insta-Design 3000. This is an album cover for a southern hip hop artist. The client wasn't sure which picture he wanted for the cover so I composed two different versions. You can see the original photo's I was supplied with and then I enhanced them through the magic of photoshop. You can click the cover designs to enlarge the view.

R&B CD Design- Motown Cover Art : Greatest Hits

I recently designed this cd cover for an upcoming album release "A Collectors R&B Dream 1968". From left to right: James Brown, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder. It was kind of surreal to work on a project containing such musical legends.
